AJ Rene is a dynamic dancer and actress who has graced stages worldwide. With a BFA in Acting, a minor in Dance, and over 15 years of dance training in Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop, AJ seamlessly blends storytelling and movement to deliver captivating performances that will move any audience member.

As a dancer, AJ grew up dancing at Dallas Black Dance Academy. Learning from professionals, she gained the foundation for great technique and emotional execution. This led her to perform and train with esteemed organizations. With ranges from the Drill Team world as an officer winning Crowd Pleasers Nationals routines and becoming Grand Champions, to training under Dorrell Martin at Leon Dance Arts NY intensives.

Not only is she known for her commanding stage presence, but AJ also has experience choreographing. From musical numbers to contemporary solos, AJ is passionate about creating her own steps and collaborating with others. Being awarded for her choreography, winning Best Choreographer for Texas State University’s Dance Nation. AJ learned during the process that no matter the skill level of the dancer, she is passionate about choreography and working in partnership with others.

Her acting credits are equally impressive and include standout roles such as Ophelia in Hamlet and Penny in Father Comes Home from the War! AJ’s work spans genres, from classical productions like As You Like It with The Globe’s educational program, to devised works like DeMaskUs written by Nadine Mozon, originating the character of Gourmet. Beginning her training at Dallas Children’s Theatre at just 7 years old, AJ has always known she was meant for the stage. Her dedication to storytelling shines in every role, whether as a character that feels close to home, or one that brings on exciting new challenges, AJ brings her all to every performance.

Complementing her performance skills, AJ has studied under industry leaders such as Richard Robichaux, Laura Lane, Neil Patrick Stewart, Michael Costello, and many more. Honing her technique in physicality, voiceover, Shakespeare, and screen acting, her training reflects a commitment to continuous growth and artistic exploration.
